Nvidia Nvenc Not Working
Rendering is mostly done on your cpu and generates the frames that get fed to the gpu.
Nvidia nvenc not working. I checked decoding encoding capabilities via running the samples which is a part of video codec sdk 9 0 20 package. In most cases your cpu will limit the encoding process and the gpu hardly gets warm. This appears to be the case for other users on the nvidia forums with similar notebook devices links below. The problem i am facing.
Nvcuvid dll 7 17 14 3086 nvencodeapi64 dll not existed. Kuno wrote on the latest builds nvenc is not working at all for me it works in other programs like hybrid dvdfab staxrip but mediacoder it is not working at all. My prime nvenc use cases are obs handbrake and geforce experience capture and all of these straight up do not work. Encoding through the newer nvenc interface should still work only problem is that most old tools only use the nvcuenc interface so until some software gets rewritten a bunch of old encoders will not work anymore.
It detects the hardware and then it just sits on the encode with the time ticking down and refuses to stop the encode in progress. This should not have to be this hard. So i was sweating buying a 3k card that might not work but it looks like i might be able to buy 3 quadro m4000 s that might work. One of these options is via nvenc encoding and nvdec decoding which process the video via a supported nvidia geforce graphics card.
If you uncheck the look ahead option reduce this to 2 b frames. Pardon my rant and frustration but thanks again for m4000 tip. First using nvenc speeds up encoding not rendering. Advanced for hardware decoding.
The first sign of knowing whether your pc supports these features is to go into studio and check settings. Streaming for hardware encoding then check settings. This is not recommended as nvenc is already very efficient and the little gain you can get from using a second card is lost by having to copy the frame to the second gpu. Basically it would work at all only after reinstalling nvidia drivers but subsequent pc reboots make it completely inoperable somehow.
Nvdec and nvenc do not work. Nvidia driver 430 cuda sdk 10 1 video codec sdk 9 0 20.
