Hp dv9000 intel core 2 duo 2 0ghz 2 gb ram nvidia geforce go 7200 512mb but when nvidia and windows suggests drivers for my hardware it says 7600 please help. The windows 7 upgrade advisor tells me that my nvidia nforce system management controller is not compativble with windows 7 that i should update my driver. I ve checked the nvidia site and supposedly i ve found updated drivers but their forums say that these updates cause allosrts of problems like killing the ethernet controller which is abd.
What i did was to copy the needed driver when being used by windows vista into a special folder i called graphics card in my windows 7 downloads folder all the bits i could find that seemed connected to the nvidia card in vista drivers in system 32 especially those named in the working vista driver device manager properties i copied the lot to the folder including the relevant inf files. Problem with nvidia graphic drivers in windows 7 the driver geforce release 178 is a driver for geforce graphics boards. Since the architecture of these two systems is different they need a different driver for nvidia to function. Removed previous drivers and all the bloat before my install always choose custom install uncheck nvidia experience crap had to go back to the 2016 drivers anything in the 2017 causes kernel crash gt 710.
One reason for this problem is that you might be trying to install a 32 bit driver on a 64 bit operating system or a 64 bit driver on a 32 bit operating system. This lies squarely between the drivers and your windows os.
