But in theory a quality 650w psu with a ryzen 7 a ryzen 5 or a not so power hungry intel cpu might handle a reference or close to reference rtx 3080. The thing is they always recommend more i had a 550w psu with my 2080 super and never had a problem even tho they said you will need atleast 650w. While nvidia recommends a 750w psu for the rtx 3080 it tested a system with 10th gen intel core i9 10900k processor cpu. So even looking at a worse case scenario with a 100 all core load on the cpu it looks like my 650w cpu will be enough for an rtx 3080 assuming it consumes 200w extra and the measurements are at the wall so likely to be 10 lower load on the psu.
