Nvidia Freesync Not Working
In this windows 10 guide we re going to run you.
Nvidia freesync not working. I read a digital foundry article listing recommendations for monitors that work with freesync and nvidia cards listed was the ew3270u but i am having problems with black screens. At ces 2019 nvidia announced that it was finally supporting freesync. The cable i am using is a dp 1 4 because i was told 1 4 is needed for hdr. Any hdmi implementation of freesync will not work at this time even if the monitor does technically support freesync.
One final note g sync compatible and freesync monitors only work with nvidia s gtx 10 series or newer. And even if freesync itself supports hdmi that doesn t necessarily mean that nvidia gpus support freesync over hdmi. At the time of writing this is the only driver to support freesync monitors working with nvidia cards. Well sort of what the company actually announced was a g sync compatible program.
It does not work over hdmi so that might be why freesync isn t possible. Nvidia made a change in policy that pleased many pc gamers by starting to work on certifying amd freesync monitors to work with nvidia gpus. We tested a variety of monitors with a geforce rtx 2080 ti but all pascal cards should. Nvidia s cards and drivers now work with freesync monitors for adaptive sync.
According to nvidia not all monitors go through a formal certification process display panel. But the rub is this. The driver will automatically enable variable refresh rates on freesync displays that meet nvidia s strict g sync compatible. However there are still hundreds of freesync models that will likely never get the feature.
