Nvidia Control Panel Power Management Mode
Scroll down to the bottom and you will find the power management mode option.
Nvidia control panel power management mode. Fxaa should be set to off. If you are familiar with the nvidia control panel then you probably know that by default nvidia sets the power management mode of your gpu to optimal power. Power management mode should be set to prefer maximum performance 7. It is not better than the in game aa.
Maximum pre rendered frames should be set to default 8. Under the power management mode you are presented with the default option optimal power but you also have adaptive and prefer maximum performance a common question that comes up is if you should change that setting to get better gaming performance. I think optimal is for laptops. This prevented desktop hardware acceleration like certain web browsers media players and launchers from boosting the gpu to 3d clocks.
By default nvidia sets the power management mode of your gpu be it in card or laptop form. Either use adaptive or maxpower. Also turn on triple buffering. Currently i use msi afterburner s v f lock feature so the nvidia panel setting is irrelevant.
You will find all of the global settings at their default position. Power management mode optimal power ive read from people who say go for maximum i have had lots of problems with it set to optimal from textures not looking right to very very bad stutter. Try it if you want though no harm in trying then if no problems keep it at that. Disable in game vsync and set frame limit to unlimited.
Nvidia offers three power mode settings under its driver control panel. Changing these settings will change the core and memory clock speeds and voltage of your gpu increasing them during times of load and reducing them when the need is low.
